Dan Murphy, Senior Vice President of Idealease Inc., not only leads with distinction in the commercial truck leasing industry, but also exemplifies a profound commitment to philanthropy alongside his wife JoAnn. Their personal experiences have shaped their dedication to causes such as the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer Association, and Lurie Children’s Hospital. Dan’s loss of his mother to Alzheimer’s in 2011 and JoAnn’s courageous battle with breast cancer, coupled with their family’s experiences with cancer, have ignited a passion for advocacy and support within the Murphys.

Their philanthropic efforts extend far beyond financial contributions. Dan’s leadership roles within the American Cancer Society Chicago Select Executive Committee, where he served as Event Chair and Title Sponsor in 2019 and 2020, showcase their commitment to making a tangible difference and motivating influence.  Since 2001, Dan and JoAnn, along with their own family and friends have showed consistent support of the American Cancer Society, demonstrating unwavering dedication to advancing cancer research and patient care in efforts to end cancer as we know it, for everyone. Furthermore, their active participation and leadership in events like the Discovery Ball and Dan’s chairmanship of the Alzheimer Rita Hayworth Gala in 2019, where he set a record for fundraising, underscore their hands-on approach to philanthropy and making a significant impact in the lives of others.
